The Colours Within: Writing Yourself Back Home
Every human being comes to this planet with a unique set of Inner Colours. Your homework in this life is to connect with these colours — and to share them on the great canvas called Life. To paint your very own version of meaningful, fulfilling success.
The Language of Dreams
I’ve always been intrigued by the idea that our dreams are not “nonsense,” nor are they random. Everything you dream of is a signpost — pointing you toward the rawest, most real version of yourself. A small reminder from your soul: This way.
As a child, you dreamed without limits. One moment you were a princess, the next you were fighting dragons, and then chatting away with imaginary friends. It all existed for you — simply because you could imagine it.
But as we grow older, something shifts. We start to belittle the power of daydreaming.
We stop seeing value in time spent with our own imagination.
We think more and feel less.
We do more and be less.
We make decisions based on logic — and forget to listen to the quiet voice of the heart.
Until one day, Life reminds us.
Your calling starts calling — and if you don’t listen, it will keep calling. The whisper becomes a scream, the wink turns into a wave.
When Success Stops Working
I was 22 when my own scream shook me and shattered the world I had so carefully built — the one built on perfectionism, control, and the pressure to perform.
I burned out. So completely that a stone literally grew in my throat from stress.
At the time, I had hosted three TEDx Talks, graduated with First-Class Honors, performed at the European Parliament, worked in startups as a business coach, and co-authored a book on women and leadership with a German consultancy. The success was shiny, and the ladder looked promising.
But my body couldn’t keep going.
And I was furious.
“I did everything right,” I thought. “So why did this success make me sick, not happy?”
That moment cracked something open in me. It was the turning point — the moment I realized I needed to find my version of success.
A Life in Two Suitcases
So I packed my life into two suitcases and moved to Mexico. No plan. No safety net. Just the will to make it work — and the courage to follow joy wherever it led me.
That became my new experiment: to live guided by curiosity and joy. And I haven’t stopped this experiment since.
Joy isn’t “nice to have.” It’s essential.
It’s not reckless to invest in joy — it’s one of the wisest investments you can make. Because what calls you, calls you for a reason.
Starting Over, Again
Then came another storm. During the lockdown, I lost everything once more — my marriage, my income, my sense of stability. I was alone in Mexico, an ocean away from my family, friends, and network.
That’s when I started journaling.
I had always liked it — but I never realized how powerful it could be. How it could help you literally write yourself toward your dreams.
At first, it was a lifeline. A place to pour everything out. But soon, it became a mirror — showing me where I was standing in my own way, and how I could move beyond it.
I began learning about limiting beliefs, the inner child, and healing. And I saw that healing isn’t separate from creation — it’s actually the key that opens the door to your dreams.
Journaling became my teacher. It helped me uncover and release my limiting beliefs. It helped me reconnect to my intuition — that quiet, steady voice that knows the way.
Writing as Healing
We all know the “Dear Diary” kind of journaling — the kind where you just write and write and write, until the page has caught everything your heart couldn’t hold.
If you do it long enough, something shifts. Your inner critic quiets down. Judgment softens. Thought gives way to truth.
And maybe that’s why we feel lighter afterward — because we’ve finally let out what’s been hiding inside us. We set down the quiet weight we’ve carried for years, until we can finally say: That’s not mine to carry anymore.
Then, there’s guided journaling — when a question or prompt leads you deeper. When you start exploring not just what happened, but what it means. When big questions feel less overwhelming because you’re meeting them on paper — safely, gently, with curiosity.
And then there’s what I call the analytical way of writing — the way we journal in my community, The Journaling World. This kind of journaling helps you stay loyal to your Inner Colors.
The Inner Colors
Remember those Inner Colors? They are your essence — your core values, gifts, and truths. Nobody has the same set. That’s the beauty of it.
And yet, so many of us chase the same version of success, as if one definition could ever fit all. But there are as many versions of success as there are human beings.
You create your life, decision by decision.
And if you choose from your essence — from your Inner Colors — you will naturally move closer to a version of success that feels like home.
Each decision becomes a reflection:
Does this allow me to share my Inner Colors? Then go for it.
Does it ask me to hide them? Then pause, and listen carefully before you say yes.
I was terrified of building another version of success that would leave me empty. So I made a promise to reflect every decision back to my Inner Colors — and only say yes to what allowed me to be fully me.
A Life Repainted
A few years later, everything has changed.
I run my own business now.
I started horseback riding — and made my lifelong dream of having my own horse come true.
I manifested a house with a pool that still brings tears of gratitude to my eyes.
I’m surrounded by people whose stories mirror mine — people who long for creative, joyful lives and who celebrate authenticity.
All because I stopped being afraid of showing who I really am. I let my Inner Colors shine.
That’s the magic that happens when you finally start being you.
That’s the magic that happens when you stop hiding, when you stop apologizing for your light.
Yes, it takes courage.
And yes, it’s not always easy to stay loyal to yourself in a world that’s loud and full of noise.
But that’s the path that leads you home.
And isn’t that the most beautiful manifestation of all?
You — being you.
You — living a life that brings a genuine smile to your heart.
You — creating a life that you’re proud of.
